Text colour

is picked by the tool at the top bar, while in text tool mode

Layer mask

can apply mask to layer; then paint black to erase and white to bring back the mask

Copy + Paste blending layers

Can drag the "fx" from one right on to another layer

Paths - Pen tool

Can create paths using the pen tool

once completed (sealed) can save the path
in side window go to "paths" (by layers) save

can fill this path with "fill" tool for paths at bottom in side bar

can fill these in new layers, using new layer for each

Tracing outlines of black & white image

1. select entire image
2. in "channels" create a new layer and paste image in
3. invert the image, so white on black
4. fill the other, old RGB channels with white
5. command + click on the new layer
6. back in layers fill in the new selection
7. create white layer behind all this as background

Invert

Image > Adjustments > Invert

Similar select

can select similar colour - after selecting something with select tool
go to Select > similar

This will select other areas with similar

Transparency fill on layers

Fill a layer with new colour, while maintaining the transparencies

select the layer you want, then lock/protect the transparency on layer bar

then fill with new colour

Defining Brushes (i.e. bubbles)

Select the layer you want to make as brush

Edit > define brush preset

can go back in the history tool to fix mistakes

 

Make sure you have a "brush" engine

in the middle bar, if not window > brushes

in the brush engine, you can change spacing, scatter, minimum, angle, etc
